Accessibility statement
Declaration of conformity
Europ Assistance Belgium, the Belgian branch of Europ Assistance SA, an insurer under French law with its registered office at 2 rue Pillet-Will, 75009 Paris, France (451 366 405 RCS Nanterre) is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the law of July 19, 2018 relating to the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector organizations.
This accessibility statement is applicable to the website https://www.europ-assistance.be
Status of compatibility with the requirements
This website is currently only partially compliant with conformity level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.2" or with the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08) due to the following incompatibilities.
In a first revision phase, a number of measures have already been taken and improvements have been made in the following areas:
- Colors and contrasts have been improved throughout the website
- The basic accessibility of navigation with keyboard and screen reader as well as the visibility of the keyboard focus have been improved
- Keyboard accessibility of the product pages improved
- Screen reader speech output of the navigation has been improved
- Alternative texts for graphics and controls have been set
Non-accessible content
The following content and functions are not yet accessible. We are trying to remove all identified hurdles for people with disabilities in a timely manner:
-
The website has no jump links for screen readers, insufficient landmarks, and no alternative access route such as a search function or sitemap. SC 2.4.1 and SC 2.4.5 are not fulfilled as a result.
-
The E-Commerce routes are not operable for keyboard users and screen reader users. For example, UI components are not accessible for country or date picker. Error messages are not sufficiently communicated, the form cannot be operated with a keyboard and cannot be sent, screen reader users do not receive sufficient feedback from the sales process. As a result, at least the following WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria are not met, for example: SC 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships), SC 1.3.2 (Meaningful Sequence), SC 1.3.5 (Identify Input Purpose), SC 1.4.1 (Use of Color), SC 1.4.4 (Resize Text), 1.4.11 (Non-Text Contrast), 1.4.13 (Content on Hover or Focus), SC 2.1.1 (Keyboard), SC 2.2.1 (Timing adjustable), SC 2.4.2 (Page Titled), SC 2.4.6 (Headings and Labels), SC 2.4.7 (Focus Visible), SC 2.5.8 (Target Size Minimum), SC 3.2.2 (On Input), SC 3.2.4 (Consistent Identification), SC 3.3.1 (Error Identification), SC 3.3.2 (Labels or Instructions), SC 3.3.3 (Error Suggestion), SC 3.3.4 (Error Prevention / Legal, Financial, Data), SC 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value), SC 4.1.3 (Status Messages).
-
The language selection is not recognizable to screen reader users due to missing labels and cannot be operated on mobile device screen readers. At least SC 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships) is not fulfilled by this.
-
Some content, e.g. the product comparison tables, is not understandable without a visual view. As a result, at least SC 1.1.1 (Non-text Content), SC 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships), SC 1.3.2 (Meaningful Sequence), SC 2.4.3 (Focus Order) and SC 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value) are not met.
-
The navigation does not behave robustly against browser settings, so at least SC 1.4.12 (Text Spacing) is not met.
-
Navigation is not fully accessible in screen readers. SC 3.2.1 (On Focus) is not fulfilled.
-
A structuring of the fields in the E-commerce routes by fieldsets is largely missing. As a result, SC 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships) is not met.
-
HTML structure elements for lists are still missing in all navigation areas, so SC 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships) is not met.
-
The cursor position is not comprehensible in some areas of the menu (when using mobile screen readers) and in the E-commerce routes (in all browsers) without visual vision, so SC 1.3.2 (Meaningful Sequence) is not met.
-
The typography is not sufficiently contrasty in some places, e.g. in the online shop area or in the blog.
-
The cursor position is not comprehensible in some areas due to the dynamic reloading of content without visual vision, which means that SC 1.3.2 (Meaningful Sequence) is not met.
-
Graphical controls are sometimes not accessible with a keyboard and their function cannot be determined programmatically. As a result, at least SC 1.1.1 (Non-text Content), SC 2.1.1 (Keyboard), SC 2.1.2 (No Keyboard Trap), SC 2.4.3 (Focus Order), SC 2.4.7 (Focus visible), SC 2.5.3 (Label in Name), SC 2.5.8 (Target size minimum), SC 4.1.2 (Name, Role Value) are not met.
-
In a few places, link markings are only made by color. This affects SC 1.4.1 (Use of Color).
-
Link purpose is not clear everywhere, e.g. with the logo or with different "More info" buttons. As a result, SC 2.4.4 (Link Purpose in Context) is not met.
-
The layout of the web pages is not yet robust enough for individual browser settings, so SC 1.4.12 (Text Spacing) is not met.
-
Unforeseeable data loss due to step navigation in the online routes, so SC 3.2.2 (Labels or Instructions) is not met.
-
PDF files are not tagged and therefore generally not accessible.
